 Eligibility

To become a contestant in the title weekend, you must meet all of these criteria:

  • be between 21 and 60 years of age

  • use a wheelchair/scooter for 100% of your daily community mobility

  • be a resident of Virginia for at least 6 months

  • marital status is not a consideration


Judging

Contestants will be judged in the following categories:

  • Personal Interviews

  • Platform Speech Presentations

  • On-stage interviews

  • Table of Life Display

Contestants will also be judged on:

Accomplishments - accomplishments since the onset of disability.

Communication Skills - includes ability to communicate with the media,
public relations and public speaking skills, and advocacy for the disability community.

Self-Perception - includes poise, demeanor, self confidence, appropriate attire.


Titleholder Receives

●The opportunity to travel throughout VA to promote disability education & awareness.

●Represent Virginia at the week long Ms. Wheelchair America pageant this summer.

●The choice of a living allowance from AmeriCorps for her & companion. 

●Crown and sash to wear during reign.


Contestant Scholarship

●One contestant will receive a scholarship.
